The new year is upon us, and as part of that festivities, The Simpsons has finally released a new episode, entitled “The New Year,” that was originally supposed to air back in January.
However, The Walt Disney Company has decided to postpone the release of this episode for at least a month until the company can finalize a release date for the movie that will be set for December 10th.
The delay in the release was announced by Disney in a statement on the Walt Disney World Blog:”We are working to finalize the release date of the animated feature film ‘The New Years Day Massacre’ as soon as possible.
We will share more information in the coming weeks.”
While it is expected that the release will come on December 10, the release is likely to come earlier than that.
That’s because the animated film was originally scheduled to be released on December 5th, which was on the same day that “The Simpsons” episode that aired back in 2013 had been released.
This new episode is expected to air in the following weeks, though, which will likely see the new episode arrive sometime in late February or early March.
The new episode marks the debut of new characters including a new character, a new car and a new song.
The Simpsons Season 14 premieres tonight, February 2nd at 8/7c on Fox.
